And off we go..
Genre: New Adult PNR
Collette was locked away in a cage at a young age, she was beaten and scared. Her captors kept getting her to shift but she didn’t know what that meant. She was too young to understand and then they put a boy with her. Griff was the son of an Alpha. He consoled her and kept her grounded. They became more than friends. A bound was created out of their capture and turmoil.
Okay, I may be biased about this book because I read it at least once a year. I love Becca, her writing style is gripping when it comes to her characters. I will admit the first time I read this, in the beginning, I thought it was going to be more like a YA and also. I thought Collette was going to find her mate far too young.
I was pleasantly surprised on both accounts. Becca totally turned it around on me, made me cry and rage all in the name of a good book. I couldn’t help but laugh and there were so many times I did this…
I loved Collete she was a great MC, she wasn’t someone to be stepped over. I also loved the fated mate aspect of this book. How they explained it made me really happy. I was extremely impressed with how the outcome went. I loved even more that she made her MC’s fight for it. It wasn’t like that whole love at first sight and this is the end of it. No, no trials and tribulations my friends. I love emotional angst. give me some of that.
I don’t feel satisfied if I don’t work for that relationship. I love that it was believable. That it wasn’t one of those relationships you rolled your eyes and gave a huff of aggravation. If I couldn’t believe it was happening then I am not going to finish the book.
Now, this isn’t just a smash page blowing unicorns up the Author’s rear. There were moments I had to put it down and walk away. It still may have been a five-star book for me. But I did have moments trying to figure out why I was still reading it. But that’s par for the course for me. I read a whole book in a day. I am going to eventually get frustrated with some, somewhere.
I wanted more of Hunter and Collette, there was a part of the book that felt like it was just filler to me. It was interesting only in the sense that you got to learn more about Lette but it felt like it went on for far too long. I loved the possessiveness that Hunter had for Lette. I loved how mates were determined in this book as well. It gave a whole new perspective.
I do recommend this book, I did read it four times. I will read it again and again. I loved the love story.
