Born In Fire by K.F. Breene

Good morning everyone! and happy actual Humpday. Oddly I had all my days mixed up, so I thought yesterday was Wednesday I’m pretty sure people thought I lost my mind. I probably did for a little bit. Let’s begin, shall we?

Heart pounding and laugh out loud funny, USA Today Bestselling author K.F. Breene will take you on a magical joy ride you won’t soon forget.

Supernatural Bounty Hunter isn’t the sort of thing you see on LinkedIn. But with a rare type of magic like mine, I don’t have many options.

Dangerous or not, the job is mine. And it was going fine, until an old as sin vampire stole my mark, and with it, my pay day. Knowing I’m poor and desperate, he has offered me a job. I’ll have to work by his side to help solve a top secret case.

Everyone knows not to trust vampires. Especially a hot elder vampire. But without any other jobs coming up, I’m stuck. As I uncover a web of lies and treachery, revealing an enemy I didn’t know existed, the truth of my identity is threatened. I might make it out alive, only to end up in a gilded cage.

Okay listen I don’t know how to rate or review this one. I honestly don’t I really enjoyed this book, there were so many times that Regan made me laugh out loud. You know that laugh that comes out of nowhere and people turn to look at you and say, ‘okay yep she has completely gone over the edge.’

So here I am sitting in my room which is quiet as all get out when I bark out laughing like an idiot. I can hear people in the other room asking ‘what the hell is she laughing at’ because even though I have a TV in my room it doesn’t work. So, they know I am not watching anything.

Born in Fire felt like another book to me, this isn’t a bad thing because I loved that other book too. And nope not going to say which one because I feel I will be taking something away if I do. #Sorrynotsorry.

Regan is a magical creature that no one knows anything about. She can cut through magic with her sword. Which is dang cool if you ask me. She’s hunting a bounty to make the money she needs to get an AC.

In comes Darius, this is where we get to meet the mighty arrogance of doom. He takes the bounty right off Regan’s shoulder. No seriously like literally takes it from her shoulder and leaves with it. He then goes through the agency she secretly but not so secretly works for to hire her.

This book was full of hilarity and mayhem. Loved…. The…. Book….

Full disclosure though, I love Breene period full stop. She tends to write dark Urban Fantasy with some jokes twisted inside. I feel like she completes with sarcasm and fluffy wit. This warms the cockles of my little heart. Darius was even funny with his dry humor. This book is worth the read if for only Darius and Regan alone.

But the world building is even fantastic, we learn a lot about our h. That puts this book in a 4 crossbones bunny section. Hey look totally rated and now reviewed. Born in Fire people, complete recommend from me to you.
