I have been so crazy with work, and writing that I hadn’t had time to start a review. I have read a lot, not watching TV it gives me time. But I have been tired and laying around doing nothing but reading. Oh well I been helping family out to so there is that. Let’s do a review shall we?
Okay y’all if you haven’t read this book. Oh my gods. Now okay this isn’t like what I normally read by any means I mean come on I am into Dark romance and well Paranormal romance/reverse harems. So a Epic Fantasy romance, totally not on my radar. Not even in the same universe. ANYWAY!
This was epic in the sense that you didn’t have love triangles, no insta-love, no insta-list. I mean shit they didn’t even find each other attractive. No no friends. this was hands down a slow burn to friends, to lovers, to in love.
What, What, What? I mean come again. Draven did something amazing here, okay she totally took me out of my romance bubble and slammed into something I have never read before or even thought about reading and made me squee with delight. Brashen hell to the yes.. I want more of him and I get it! This is a series y’all so after this book there is more Ildiko and Brashen. So worth it.
There was so much in this book I loved so much, these two didn’t want to be in this situation together. They had no choice but they were happy that they had each other. they were fun together, funny and there was so much that made my heart just flip over the things that were said for example.
“Resting beside her, he seemed to Ildiko a living statue, carved from dark granite into a form of supple elegance and power. He was beautiful, and the tremor change in her perception of him robbed her lungs of air.
He opened both eyes suddenly, making her jump. Two shimmering gold coins stared at her unblinking. “Good evening, wife,” he said in a voice raspy with the remnants of sleep. A closed-lip smile curved his mouth upward and deepened the tiny lines that fanned from the corners of his eyes. “You’re staring. Do I have a fly on my nose?”
Fighting down a blush at being caught gawking at her own husband, Ildiko lightly tapped the tip of his nose with one finger. “I was trying to find a way to kill it without punching you in the face. Lucky for you, it flew away.”
I mean come on, this was sweet and made me giggle. they are meant to be with each other. SO much so. here is my favorite one.
“She made him strong; she made him weak, and in that moment, she nearly put him on his knees. ”
“Will you be that for me, Ildiko,” he said. “That beacon in the void?”
“The void is vast, like the sea at night and no land in sight. I’ll be the beacon, Brishen.”
Y’all seriously do yourself a favor and pick this book up. I mean you can not lose! Recommend from me to you.
